Craig McClain, M.D., is a Professor at Harvard Medical School and a pediatric anesthesiologist at Children’s Hospital Boston. He leads the world’s first intraoperative MRI (iMRI) suite in a pediatric hospital, overseeing over 120 neurosurgical procedures in this innovative environment. His research focuses on neuroanesthesia advancements, global surgical systems sustainability, and the intersection of climate change with healthcare delivery. Dr. McClain’s work spans policy development through roles on national MRI safety committees and the ASA Task Force on MRI Anesthesia, as well as global health initiatives in Rwanda, India, and Pakistan.
