Craig Martin is a Professor and Chief Operations Officer (Associate Dean for Operations) at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. He oversees operations, budgeting, human resources, facilities, IT, faculty processes, communications, and alumni relations. A graduate of the UK College of Pharmacy (1999 PharmD), he also holds an MBA from Morehead State University and completed an infectious disease pharmacy residency at UK HealthCare.
His expertise spans infectious diseases (viral, bacterial, fungal), vaccines, and pharmacy practice. He leads the nationally award-winning Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at UK HealthCare and coordinates the infectious diseases course in the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum. Notable awards include the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists’ Outstanding Clinical Practice Award and the American Society of Health System Pharmacists’ Best Practice Award.
Research focuses on antibiotic efficacy, nephrotoxicity, antimicrobial stewardship, and critical care pharmacotherapy. Recent publications analyze drug combinations, nephrotoxicity risks, and treatment optimization strategies for infections like pneumonia and cystic fibrosis-related conditions. He currently serves on the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy and was its 2019 President.
