Dr. Courtney Reichhardt is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Washington University in St. Louis. Her laboratory investigates fundamental biophysical principles of biofilm assembly using integrated approaches combining microbiology, solid-state NMR, confocal microscopy, and electron microscopy to develop anti-biofilm therapeutics.
Research examines bacterial adhesins in Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms, with recent publications on proteobacterial cellulose synthesis mechanisms (2024) and structural analysis of biofilm matrices (2023). Her work has implications for treating device-related infections and cystic fibrosis complications.
