Courtney N. McKay

Courtney N. McKay is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Clinical Health Professions at St. John’s University. She holds a Doctorate of Pharmacy (summa cum laude) from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, followed by a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Lakeland Regional Medical Center and a PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency at Maimonides Medical Center. She currently provides clinical services in the Trauma/Surgery Intensive Care Unit at Bellevue Hospital Center, where she also mentors pharmacy students during Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) rotations. Dr. McKay actively contributes to hospital committees, guideline development, and research.

Her research focuses on emergency medicine, toxicology, antibiotic stewardship, stroke management, traumatic brain injury, and anticoagulation protocols. Recent work includes randomized controlled trials comparing pharmacological agents in acute care settings, emphasizing emergency department analgesia and stroke blood pressure management.

Dr. McKay’s teaching includes CPP 6114: Toxicologic Emergencies. She is involved in clinical practice, guideline development, and preceptorship but no specific grants or awards are listed. She collaborates on hospital committees and contributes to multidisciplinary teams for trauma and ICU care.
