Costas Apostolakis is a Professor holding dual appointments in the Department of Philology and the Department of Classical Studies at the University of Crete.
He completed his academic training at the University of Crete and the University of Groningen.
His research specializes in Ancient Rhetoric, Attic Comedy, and Ancient Historiography, with significant contributions to the analysis of classical Greek and Roman texts. His scholarly work examines rhetorical techniques in oratory, comedic structures in Greek theater, and historiographical methodologies, particularly through close readings of authors like Lysias, Demosthenes, Timokles, and Livius.
Professor Apostolakis has authored four major monographs: [Lysius] On Polystratus (2003), [Demosthenes] To Phaenipopon on Counter-Reaction (2009), Timokles (2019), and Titus Livius.
