معرفی
Costantino Creton is a Research Director at CNRS, affiliated with ESPCI Paris - PSL. He leads the Polymers team (design, rheology, interfaces, mechanics) since 2009, serves as President of the French section of the Membership since 2013, and acts as Scientific Chairman for the "Performance Plastics" technology area at the Dutch Polymer Institute.
- PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University (1991)
- Engineering degree from EPFL (1985)
His research focuses on polymer adhesion, rubber fracture mechanics, and hydrogel nonlinear mechanical properties. Methodologically, he combines physical chemistry and materials science to study mechanical behavior under inhomogeneous deformation, emphasizing industrial applications through model systems. Key research areas include pressure-sensitive adhesives, diblock copolymers, and hydrogel adhesion/fracture.
His publications (2005-2008) highlight trends in polymer architecture-adhesion relationships, nonlinear rheology, and industrial relevance of block copolymers. The work bridges fundamental research with industrial collaboration, funded by long-term thesis/post-doc projects and short-term consultancy.
Creton operates within the Soft Matter Science and Engineering laboratory (UMR 7615), part of PSL University's interdisciplinary ecosystem. His team's research aligns with ESPCI's historical strength in polymer innovation, including self-healing rubber and biomedical imaging technologies.
