Cosima Jungk, M.Ed. is a researcher at the University of Mainz, specializing in Romanticism, German literature, and epistolary studies. She currently coordinates the Critical Friedrich Schlegel Edition (KFSA) project and works at the Friedrich and Dorothea Schlegel Research Center in Mainz.
- Education: Master of Education in History, Social Studies, and Educational Sciences with Spanish extension (University of Mainz, 2018).
Her research focuses on the intersection of Romantic political thought, historical criticism, and editorial practices. She explores how letters function as social media in the 19th century, emphasizing intimacy and gender dynamics in Dorothea Schlegel's correspondences. Her work bridges traditional philology with digital humanities.
Key Publications: Co-edited the 2022 volume on Friedrich Schlegel's Napoleonic-era writings and contributed essays on Romantic literary theory, epistolary media, and affective intimacy in 2023.
She is actively involved in public scholarship, presenting at conferences like "Autor-Übersetzerinnen um 1800" and "Edition als Transformation". Her collaborative projects include the RMU initiative "Sichtbar machen: Deutschsprachige Romantikerinnen".
