Dr. Cornelia Baessler is a Science Manager at the Department of Community Ecology within the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Halle, Germany. She leads research initiatives under the 'Ecosystems of the Future' unit, focusing on biodiversity, ecological dynamics, and sustainable land use. Her work integrates long-term ecological research (LTER) and agricultural landscape studies.
Education: She holds a diploma in Biology (Botany, Zoology, Geology, and Nature Conservation) from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and the University of Vienna, followed by a PhD (2006) on plant diversity and genetic variation in agricultural landscapes at UFZ and ETH Zurich.
Research Interests: Her expertise spans plant biodiversity, genetic variation in ecosystems, and the impacts of environmental change on ecological communities.
