Professor Cormac Newark is Head of Research, specializing in 19th-century French and Italian opera and literature. His research explores intersections between opera and literature, with a focus on canonical and cultural studies. He holds a doctoral degree from the University of Oxford and has held roles at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, and the University of Ulster. His work has been supported by grants from the British Academy, Leverhulme Trust, and others.
