Corinne Siino is a Professor of Urban Planning and Development at the University of Toulouse 2 Jean Jaures, affiliated with the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Solidarity, Societies, Territories (LISST) and the Multidisciplinary Institute for Studies on the Americas in Toulouse (IPEAT). She works within the Department of Geography, Planning, Environment at the Daniel-Faucher Institute, focusing on urban planning and development in the Toulouse metropolitan area.
Her research centers on third places, sustainable urban development, and socio-ecological transitions. Professor Siino examines how collaborative workspaces and third places contribute to urban fabric, territorial animation, and reduced social inequalities. Her work integrates perspectives on mobility patterns, telecommuting, and the recomposition of employment and lifestyles within contemporary urban environments. She has developed a particular expertise in analyzing the relationship between urban planning and socio-ecological transitions, with emphasis on decarbonized mobility solutions.
Analysis of her recent publications reveals a clear trajectory toward examining how third places serve as catalysts for sustainable urban transformations. Her research increasingly focuses on the intersection of digital technologies, mobility practices, and spatial organization, with particular attention to how these elements can address territorial inequalities and contribute to ecological transition in urban contexts. Much of her empirical work centers on the Toulouse metropolitan area, though she also engages in comparative studies with other cities including Montreal.
Professor Siino is actively involved in collaborative research projects, frequently working with colleagues such as Mathieu Vidal and Claudia Ximena Lopez. Her work appears in both French and international publications, demonstrating her commitment to contributing to global academic discourse while maintaining strong local engagement with urban planning challenges in Southern France.
She participates in various research networks including the GIS NeOCampus and the international research network "Habiter les Villes du Futur" (REHVIF), contributing to knowledge exchange on urban transitions and sustainable development practices. Her methodological approach combines qualitative analysis with innovative spatial and visualization techniques to understand complex urban phenomena.
