PD Dr. Corina Strößner is a Research Fellow in Theoretical Philosophy at the Institute of Philosophy, University of Greifswald. She is involved in the DFG project 'On the role of similarity and inference in concepts' and teaches logic, philosophy of language, and epistemology. Her current office is located in Room 2.04, Baderstraße 6, Greifswald.
She earned her doctorate from Saarland University in 2012 with a thesis on normality statements. Her academic career includes research positions at the University of Konstanz (2012-2014), Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (2015-2020), Ruhr University Bochum (2020-2024), and Birkbeck College, University of London (2022-2023). In the winter semester of 2024/2025, she served as a visiting professor for the philosophy of science at the University of Wuppertal.
Her research focuses on rationality, conceptual learning, and the philosophy of science, particularly how similarity and reasoning influence the formation of natural concepts. This work bridges theoretical philosophy with cognitive science, exploring epistemological foundations and conceptual change mechanisms.
