Corina Sas is a Professor in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Digital Health at Lancaster University's School of Computing and Communications. She holds roles as Assistant Dean for Research Enhancement and Director of the HighWire Doctoral Training Centre on Digital Economy. Her research focuses on wellbeing technologies, mental health support systems, and novel tools using wearable biosensors and lifelogging. She has secured over £15.1M in grants, including leading two EU Innovative Training Networks. Awards include the AI 2000 Most Influential Scholar Honorable Mention (2022) and the Digital Female Leader Award (2019).
Education: PhD in Computer Science (University College Dublin, 2004), Executive MBA (Distinction), and degrees in Mathematics/Computer Science and Psychology. She has supervised 15 PhD students, shortlisted for the Outstanding Research Supervisor of the Year Award (2021).
Key grants include AffecTech (€3.8M), Digital Threads (£117K), and DESIRE (£3.24M). Her work spans interdisciplinary projects on affective health, blockchain in craft industries, and 3D food interaction. Active in editorial boards (ACM TOCHI, Taylor & Francis HCI) and conference leadership (ACM CHI, DIS).
Labs/Teams: Leads the Pervasive Systems Group and contributes to the Digital Health Group and Institute for Social Futures.
