Corey Efaw serves as a Research Engineer at Boise State University's Micron School of Materials Science and Engineering. With over 10 years of research experience, he has established himself as an expert in electrochemistry with a focus on materials sustainability and degradation within corrosion and battery technology applications. His technical expertise spans multiple advanced characterization techniques including atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).
Dr. Efaw's research interests center on electrochemical degradation phenomena in materials, with particular emphasis on corrosion of lightweight alloys and battery technology. His work bridges fundamental surface science with practical applications in clean energy technologies, contributing significantly to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to sustainable materials and clean energy. He has developed specialized knowledge in scanning probe microscopy applications for battery materials characterization and corrosion mapping.
