Constantinos Nikiforou

Constantinos Nikiforou is an Assistant Professor in Pharmacognosy at the European University of Cyprus (EUC), affiliated with the School of Sciences and Department of Life Sciences. He holds a PhD and BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Patras.

His research focuses on plant stress responses, ecological conservation, and pharmacognosy. Notable projects include the CAREMEDIFLORA project (2017-2018), addressing Mediterranean flora conservation, and the TRUST project (2014-2015), focused on climate change adaptation. He has organized and spoken at multiple international workshops and seminars on plant conservation and agricultural adaptation.

Nikiforou has contributed to peer-reviewed journals such as Ecological Indicators and Functional Plant Biology. He has reviewed manuscripts for journals like Frontiers in Plant Ecology and supervised undergraduate research projects at EUC.

His work integrates ecological studies with applied research, emphasizing biodiversity preservation and plant resilience under environmental stress. He has collaborated with institutions like the Agricultural Research Institute of Cyprus and CSIRO.
