Constadina Arvanitis, PhD, is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. She serves as Director for the Center for Advanced Microscopy and Nikon Imaging Center, supporting light/electron microscopy and cross-scale image analysis at Feinberg School of Medicine. As a member of the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, she contributes to cancer research infrastructure.
- BS: Loyola University Chicago (1999)
- MS: Stanford University (2001)
- PhD: Stanford University (2008)
Her research focus centers on developing advanced imaging methodologies for cellular and molecular analysis across biomedical disciplines. The Center for Advanced Microscopy provides critical infrastructure for both basic and translational research, enabling visualization from whole organisms to single molecules.
Recent publications demonstrate her technical expertise in bioimaging, including proximity ligation assays for protein interactions (2020), live confocal imaging protocols (2021), and microglia-mediated pain mechanisms (2022). Her 2023 work on nailfold capillaroscopy highlights clinical applications in neonatal diagnostics.
- Member, Career Path Workgroup for GBI (2024 - Present)
- Member, Training and Education Workgroup, BINA (2024 - Present)
