Conor Power

Conor Power is a Lecturer in the Department of Sport and Health at Solent University. He holds an MSc and is pursuing a PhD, with teaching experience in biomechanics and health sciences at Winchester University and Southampton University. His research focuses on biomechanical analysis for injury prevention in sports and military contexts, utilizing techniques like 3D motion capture and neuromuscular exercises. Dr. Power has collaborated with military organizations like the Royal Navy to study injury mitigation strategies during recruit training.

Education:

• MSc in Sport Science/Biomechanics
• PhD in Biomechanics (ongoing)

His research interests include optimizing movement quality, analyzing lower limb mechanics, and applying biomedical engineering solutions for post-stroke rehabilitation. He has published extensively on topics such as functional movement screening, neuromuscular training efficacy, and military personnel injury prevention. Dr. Power has also developed a multichannel muscle stimulation system for stroke rehabilitation.

Teaching: Currently teaches courses in sport and exercise biomechanics, contributing to Solent University's BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Therapy program which focuses on patient rehabilitation and clinical practice.
