معرفی
Connor Keating is a Junior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford's Department of Experimental Psychology, specializing in autism, emotion, and social cognition research. He holds a BSc and PhD and actively pursues three main research streams that significantly contribute to autism science. Keating is also the co-director of the U21 Autism Research Network, connecting researchers across 12 countries.
His research program focuses on: (1) developing mechanistic models of emotion-processing in both autistic and non-autistic individuals; (2) identifying movement-based indicators of autism through systematic comparison of facial and bodily movements; and (3) addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion issues in autism research through global collaboration. His work has particular emphasis on cross-cultural variations in autism experiences and emotion recognition.
Keating's publication record demonstrates significant contributions to understanding autism across cultural contexts, emotion processing differences, and movement signatures. His recent work examines bi-directional mentalizing, prosocial decision-making across neurotypes, and language preferences in the global autism community.
Scientific Awards:
- Best PhD Dissertation Award from the International Society for Autism Research (INSAR)
- Frith Prize for outstanding research presentation
As an active researcher at Oxford, Keating regularly presents his work at major conferences including the Experimental Psychology Society meeting and INSAR Annual Meeting. His commitment to community-engaged research ensures that autism studies align with the priorities and needs of diverse autism communities worldwide, particularly through his leadership in the U21 Autism Research Network.
