Concepción Rodríguez Parada

Concepción Rodríguez Parada is a Professor in the Department of Library Science, Documentation and Audiovisual Communication at the University of Barcelona's Faculty of Information and Audiovisual Media. She serves as the Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Management and Direction of Libraries and Information Services. She has conducted significant research on convent libraries, particularly the Mercedarian convent in Barcelona, and the role of women in historical printing. Professor Rodríguez Parada is actively involved in research projects including "Spiritual Landscapes: A Spatial Approach to the Transformations of Medieval Female Religiosity in the Peninsular Kingdoms in the Middle Ages" (12th-16th centuries) and "History of Book Advertising in Spain: (15th-20th centuries)". She serves as a researcher in these funded R&D&I projects through her affiliation with BiBES (Libraries, Education and Society), a consolidated research group recognized by the Generalitat de Catalunya (2014 SGR 382).

She has been instrumental in developing professional ethics standards, serving on the drafting committee of the Code of Ethics of the Official College of Librarians-Documentarians of Catalonia (COBDC) and as a member of the SEDIC Working Group on Professional Ethics that developed the Code of Ethics of the Spanish Association of Documentation and Information (SEDIC).
