Professor Con Si Lun Tam is Head of the Lymphoma Service at Alfred Health and the School of Translational Medicine, Monash University. He holds an M.B.B.S.(Hons) and M.D. from the University of Melbourne. His career includes a Leukemia Fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He previously led the Low Grade Lymphoma and CLL Disease Group at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre for over a decade and was past Director of Haematology at St. Vincent's Hospital.
His research focuses on developing treatments for blood cancers, including global leadership in zanubrutinib (BTK inhibitor) development, combination therapies of ibrutinib/venetoclax, and pivotal studies on CAR T-cell therapy for lymphoma. He has authored over 240 peer-reviewed papers in top-tier journals like New England Journal of Medicine and has >17,000 citations. He currently serves as Lymphoma Editor for Blood Advances.
Recent projects (2023–2025) include Phase III trials for BGB-16673, sonrotoclax safety studies, and CAR T-cell response determinants. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and innovation.
Notable collaborations span global institutions, with active grants and trials addressing CLL, lymphoma, and myeloproliferative diseases. He leads the ACRF Centre for Dynamic Immuno-Oncology and multiple investigator-led studies.
