Colm McParland is a Professor in the Division of Respirology, Department of Medicine at Dalhousie University. He serves as a respirologist and medical director of the pulmonary function laboratory at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. His clinical and research focuses include evaluating breathlessness, obstructive lung diseases, and the role of physiological assessments in respiratory diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. McParland completed his medical degree (MBChB BAO) and internal medicine residency at University College Dublin. He further specialized in respirology training at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
His research emphasizes practical clinical applications, particularly integrating physiological evaluation into respiratory care protocols. He is actively involved in medical education through Dalhousie’s Faculty of Medicine and contributes to patient care at the QEII Halifax Infirmary.
