Collin M. Callahan

Collin M. Callahan is an Instructor in the Department of English and Modern Languages at Florida A&M University (FAMU), located in Tallahassee, FL. He holds a Ph.D. in English and Creative Writing from Florida State University (2022), an MFA from the University of Arkansas (2018), and a B.A. in English from the University of Iowa (2013). His primary role involves teaching courses like ENC 1101 and ENC 1102 in Freshman Communicative Skills.

Callahan’s research and creative work focuses on poetry, with a notable emphasis on surrealism, regional themes, and narrative experimentation. His debut poetry collection, *Thunderbird Inn* (2022), won the Minds on Fire Open Prize and was awarded the Florida Book Awards Silver Medal. His poems have appeared in prestigious journals such as *Granta*, *Denver Quarterly*, and *Poetry Northwest*. He has also received accolades including the 2021 Bat City Review Editors’ Prize and the Walton Family Fellowship in Poetry (2016-2017).
