معرفی
Collin L. Broholm is the Gerhard H. Dieke Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University (JHU), affiliated as joint faculty with Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He specializes in experimental condensed matter physics, focusing on anomalous magnetism, superconductivity, and quantum materials, primarily using neutron scattering. His work emphasizes systems with frustration or low dimensionality.
Education:
- PhD in Physics, University of Copenhagen (1988)
Research interests include developing neutron scattering instrumentation, with leadership roles in building spectrometers at the NIST Center for Neutron Research and advising national facilities. His contributions earned awards such as the Presidential Faculty Fellowship and the Neutron Scattering Society’s Sustained Research Award.
As director of the Johns Hopkins Institute for Quantum Matter, he leads interdisciplinary research. His career spans postdoctoral work at AT&T Bell Labs (1988–1990) and a long-term affiliation with JHU since 1990.
