Colleen Marie Lewis

Colleen Marie Lewis is an Associate Professor in the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science at the University of Illinois. Her work focuses on improving computer science education through evidence-based practices, with particular attention to issues of equity, student belonging, and self-efficacy. She holds an NSF CAREER Award (2022) recognizing her impactful research contributions.

Research interests include notional machines, broadening participation in computing, and addressing microaggressions in academic environments. Her recent studies have explored the impact of physical models in teaching Java inheritance concepts, as well as intersectional analyses of computing self-efficacy across institutions.
