Colleen L. Barry is the inaugural Dean of the Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy, leading its development into a globally prominent institution. Previously, she held the Fred and Julie Soper Professorship and chaired the Department of Health Policy and Management at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her research focuses on mental health, addiction policy, and strategies to reduce stigma, with notable contributions to gun violence prevention and opioid crisis policy. Dean Barry has authored over 240 peer-reviewed publications and directed NIH-funded training programs. She serves on the Board of Directors of Sandy Hook Promise and is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and National Academy of Social Insurance. Her educational background includes a PhD in Health Policy from Harvard University (2004) and an MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School (1999).
