Colin Davalo

Colin Davalo is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Mathematics 'Giuseppe Peano' of the University of Turin, working on the ERC GENERATE project under Andrea Seppi's supervision. He completed his PhD at Heidelberg University under Beatrice Pozzetti.

His research focuses on representations of surface groups, particularly Hitchin and maximal representations, Anosov representations, symmetric spaces, and domains of discontinuity in flag manifolds. His work explores geometric structures in Sp(4,R) and their decompositions into hyperboloid configurations.

Colin has published 3 major works, including a 2024 paper in Advances in Mathematics on Anosov representations in Sp(4,R), with additional preprints analyzing Dirichlet domains, geometric structures, and Barbot representation deformations. His recent publications (2021-2024) demonstrate expertise in geometric group theory, Lie group representations, and dynamical systems.

He has served as a teaching assistant and lecturer at Heidelberg University, instructing courses on dynamical systems and ergodic theory during Winter 2021/2022 and Summer 2023.
