Colin Chapman is a Professor of Biological Anthropology at Vancouver Island University and holds an academic position at Northwest University, Xi’an, China. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and a Conservation Fellow with the Wildlife Conservation Society. His research focuses on primate ecology, conservation biology, and community-based conservation in Uganda’s Kibale National Park. He has pioneered projects integrating healthcare, ecotourism, and education to support local communities.

Research Interests: Primates in climate change contexts, primate disease ecology, forest regeneration, and human-park interactions. He leads long-term studies on red colobus monkeys and elephant ecology, emphasizing conservation solutions that address both ecological and social challenges.
