Colin Butler is an Honorary Professor at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health, Australian National University (ANU), with a continuous affiliation since 1998. His academic career includes roles at UTAS, Deakin University, University of Canberra (Adjunct Professor 2016–2019), and Flinders University (Principal Research Fellow 2017–20). He is a vocal advocate for planetary health, emphasizing climate change, sustainability, and social justice. Butler’s research focuses on the intersection of environmental limits, human health, and civilizational survival, with over 200 publications and edited books like Climate Change and Global Health.
