Dr. Colette Olive is a Teaching Professor in Philosophy at the University of Leeds and a part-time lecturer at NYU London. She previously taught at the University of Cambridge and holds a PhD from King's College London (2023). Her research focuses on philosophy of art, 19th-20th century philosophy, Russian philosophy, and Kantian thought. She co-directs the Centre for Philosophy of Art at King’s College London and explores intersections between art, political understanding, and love in moral frameworks.

Research Interests: Olive investigates how art shapes political and ethical understanding, particularly through aesthetic theories of Kant, Murdoch, and Russian philosophers like Belinsky. She examines love’s role in moral philosophies of Hegel, Murdoch, and Beauvoir, and analyzes art-journalism intersections to enhance political discourse.
Professional Engagements: Upcoming talks include the Uppsala Higher Seminar in Aesthetics (2025) and the British Society of Aesthetics Annual Conference (2025). She is a member of the British and American Societies of Aesthetics.
