Dr. Coen Rigtering is an Associate Professor in Strategy and Organization at the Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.), Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance. He holds a Master’s degree (cum laude) in Policy, Communication, and Organization from VU University Amsterdam and a Ph.D. in Corporate Entrepreneurship from Utrecht University. His research focuses on corporate entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, strategic management, and the sharing economy, aligning with the Institutions for Open Societies (IOS) research theme, particularly the Future of Work.

Rigtering’s work has been published in top journals like the Journal of Business Venturing and Research Policy. He was awarded the U.S.E. Ph.D. Student of the Year (2012) and serves on the Advisory Board of SOLVE Consultancy. He has participated in numerous invited talks at conferences such as the Strategic Management Society Annual Conference, and acted as a peer reviewer for journals including PLoS One and Asia Pacific Management Review.
His recent publications (2023–2025) explore topics such as the impact of corporate culture on employee well-being, diffusion of healthcare innovations, and financial decision-making in cross-border contexts. These contributions reflect interdisciplinary engagement with entrepreneurship, behavioral economics, and organizational theory.
