Clinton Petty is an Assistant Professor of Education and Program Director of Educational Leadership in Administration & Supervision at Southern Arkansas University's College of Education and Human Performance. He holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of North Texas (2019), a Master's in Educational Leadership from Texas State University (2004), and a Bachelor's in History from Texas A&M University (1995). With 19 years in Texas public schools, he has served as an English language arts/social studies teacher (grades 6–7), assistant principal, and middle school principal. His research focuses on in-service teacher professional development, particularly contextual factors influencing teacher motivation during Lesson Study initiatives. He specializes in social studies methods using the Inquiry Design Model (IDM) aligned with the C3 Framework.
