Clinton Peters is an Associate Professor of Creative Writing at Berry College's English Rhetoric and Writing Department. His work focuses on environmental literature, creative nonfiction, and Appalachian studies. He is the author of *Pandora’s Garden* (2018) and *Mountain Madness* (2021), both essay collections published by the University of Georgia Press. His writing has been recognized in *The Best American Essays* series and honored by literary journals like *The Iowa Review* and *Shenandoah*.
Dr. Peters holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop (as an Iowa Arts Fellow) and a PhD from the University of North Texas. Prior to academia, he worked as an outdoor wilderness guide, taught English in Kosuge Village, Japan, and was a radio DJ.
His research explores intersections of environment and identity through essays that blend personal narrative with ecological inquiry. Awards include accolades from the North American Review, Crab Orchard Review, Columbia Journal, and the Society for Professional Journalists.
