Claudio Visentin

Claudio Visentin serves as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society, University of Italian Switzerland (USI), and has directed the Fondazione Bergamo nella storia and Museo storico di Bergamo since 2011.

His academic foundation includes specialized training in international relations history, particularly analyzing Germany's image in Italy from unification through World War I, followed by a PhD reconstructing the emergence of organized Italian tourism during the 19th-20th centuries.

Visentin's research integrates historical analysis with cultural representation through key domains:

• Tourism History as his primary scholarly contribution
• Travel Writing and History of Travel as methodological frameworks
• History of International Relations applied to cross-cultural perceptions
• Journalism Studies examining media's role in shaping narratives

He established the International Commission for the History of Travel and Tourism (ICHTT) under the International Committee for Historical Sciences (ICHS), serving as Secretary General, and currently contributes to the Journal of Tourism History as an Editorial Board member.
