معرفی
Claudio Fronterre is a Lecturer in Biostatistics (Global Health) at Lancaster Medical School, part of the Faculty of Health and Medicine at Lancaster University. His research focuses on applying advanced statistical and geospatial methods to address critical challenges in global public health, particularly in the context of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) and infectious disease epidemiology.
Key research areas include the modeling of disease prevalence for NTDs such as onchocerciasis, schistosomiasis, and soil-transmitted helminths, leveraging geostatistical approaches and spatial analysis. He has contributed to optimizing survey designs for disease surveillance and evaluating intervention programs, such as mass drug administration strategies in sub-Saharan Africa.
His work extends to understanding health inequalities in contexts like SARS-CoV-2 transmission during the pandemic and investigating emerging neonatal infections such as Paenibacillus-induced sepsis. He collaborates with groups like CHICAS (Complex Health Informatics, Modelling and Statistics) and DSI - Health (Data Science Institute - Health).
Advising includes PhD student Freya Clark. His publications span high-impact journals like PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases and JAMA Network Open, reflecting his expertise in both methodological innovation and applied public health research.
