معرفی
Claudia Riccioni is a Senior Researcher at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), specifically at the Institute of Biosciences and BioResources (IBBR) in Perugia. She has been working at CNR IBBR since October 2011, following postdoctoral experience and fellowships at the same institution from 1999-2002 and 2005-2011. She completed her PhD in Biotechnology of Fungi at the University of Perugia and CNR from 2002-2005, and earned her Master's Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Perugia in 1998.
Her educational background includes:
- PhD in Biotechnology of Fungi, University of Perugia (2006)
- Master Degree in Biological Sciences, University of Perugia (1998)
Dr. Riccioni's research focuses on fungal and plant genomics, population genetics, biodiversity, molecular taxonomy, and the ecology and life cycle of fungi and plants. Her work particularly emphasizes truffle species (Tuber spp.), including genetic structure, phylogeography, and cultivation. She has conducted extensive research on endophytic and pathogenic fungi in various plant systems, including saffron (Crocus sativus) and hops (Humulus lupulus). Her research bridges fundamental mycological studies with practical applications in agriculture and conservation.
Analysis of her recent publications shows a strong focus on truffle biodiversity, fungal genetics, and biocontrol applications. Her work spans molecular techniques, field studies, and international collaborations, particularly examining Tuber species across different geographic regions including Italy, Argentina, and Turkey. She frequently collaborates with Beatrice Belfiori and Andrea Rubini on truffle research.
Dr. Riccioni has received research funding from the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), including the PRIN-2022 project "IoHOP: Quality valorization of the Italian hop based on a multi-approach strategy" under the European Union's Next Generation EU program.
She has been actively involved in monitoring natural truffle sites in Umbria region, studying soil fungal communities, and investigating the genetic diversity of various truffle species. Her work contributes significantly to both the scientific understanding of fungal biology and practical applications in truffle cultivation and sustainable agriculture.
