Prof. Dr. Claudia Osburg is a Professor of Elementary and Primary School Pedagogy at the University of Hamburg, affiliated with the Faculty of Education and the School and Primary School Pedagogy department (EW 2). Her work focuses on inclusive education, language acquisition, and teaching-learning processes for children with speech and language challenges. She has held leadership roles, including Modulbeauftragte for Grundschulpädagogik and Bafögbeauftragte for degree programs. Her research emphasizes fostering literacy and communication in diverse classrooms.
Osburg earned her habilitation and doctorate at the University of Hamburg, with prior academic roles at institutions like the University of Hannover and University of Fribourg (CH). She has been recognized with awards such as the 2014 Kinder-haben-Rechte-Preis and 2013 Cornelsen Stiftungspreis Zukunft Schule. She co-leads the Grundschulwerkstatt Lernen und Sprache and contributes to journals like Deutsch differenziert.
Her publications span books on inclusive practices, language education, and special needs pedagogy, alongside numerous articles on literacy, speech therapy, and differentiated instruction. She actively advises on educational policy, including roles in the Fakultätsausschuss für Forschung und Nachwuchsförderung.
