Claudia Gallert

Claudia Gallert is a Professor at the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer within the School of Technology - Natural Science Technology. Her research focuses on Environmental Microbiology, specifically microbial physiology and molecular genetic characterization of microbial communities in wastewater treatment, anaerobic processes, and soil ecosystems. Key areas include syntrophic relationships in propionate degradation, isolation of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in aquatic environments, and environmental biotechnology applications. She is affiliated with the DWA (Fachausschuss KEK-4 for mechanical and biological waste treatment, and the KEK-4.2 subgroup on fermentation) and the VAAM.
