Claudene J. George

Claudene J. George, M.D., M.S., is a Professor in the Department of Medicine (Geriatrics) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, affiliated with Montefiore Medical Center. She serves as a Geriatric Hospitalist and Clinician Educator, with expertise in geriatric pharmacology, medication management in older adults, and polypharmacy. Board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Hospice/Palliative Care, Dr. George holds a pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, an M.D. from Temple University, and a master's in clinical research methods from Einstein College of Medicine.

Her research focuses on optimizing medication use in aging populations, including drug interactions and functional status. She has led curriculum development in geriatric pharmacology through a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grant (GACA), publishing on topics like psychotropic drug use and pain management. Dr. George has directed the Geriatrics Fellowship Program and Clerkship, emphasizing medical education. She currently serves on Montefiore/Einstein's Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee.
