Claude d'Estrée is a Teaching Professor at the University of Denver's Josef Korbel School of International Studies, holding joint appointments in law, philosophy, and religion. He founded and directed both the Human Trafficking Center (2002-2021) and Center on Human Rights Education.
His academic focus encompasses international human rights law, anti-trafficking interventions, and spiritual dimensions of justice. As the first appointed Buddhist Chaplain at both Harvard and University of Denver, his work integrates contemplative practices with human rights advocacy.
With teaching experience at Harvard, George Mason, and University of Arizona, he brings interdisciplinary approaches to transitional justice studies. Previously served at the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington DC.
