Clate Korsant

Clate Korsant serves as Assistant Director of Academic Affairs and Lecturer at the University of Florida's Center for Latin American Studies, currently on leave until November 15, 2025. Previously, he taught anthropology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY), Bard College’s Prison Initiative, and Goldsmiths, University of London.

His internationally awarded documentary film 'Lifting the Green Screen' translates doctoral research on Costa Rican environmental activism into visual anthropology.

Current projects include the book manuscript 'Fervor on the Frontier' based on multi-sited ethnographic research in Costa Rica, co-editing a volume on positionality in environmental anthropology (featuring his chapter 'Facing Adversity'), and developing a documentary on conservation conflicts in Mexico's Laguna San Ignacio since 2020.
