Clarissa Estep is a Teaching Professor at West Virginia University (WVU) since 2006, affiliated with the Department of Political Science within the John D. Rockefeller IV School of Policy and Politics. She serves dual roles as Director of the International Studies Program and Director of the Honors EXCEL Program, which focuses on experiential and community-engaged learning for upper-division Honors College students.

Her teaching and research emphasize international affairs, with a focus on peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and civil society dynamics in democratic systems. She actively integrates experiential learning through her leadership of WVU’s Model United Nations program, annually guiding students to conferences in Washington, DC, New York City, and rotating international locations. To date, she has led student delegations to five different countries.
Dr. Estep holds a Ph.D. from West Virginia University. Her professional contributions include curriculum development in global education and fostering student engagement through immersive learning experiences.
