Clare Coyne is an Adjunct Professor at Washington State University (WSU), affiliated with the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) and the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences. Her research focuses on leveraging cool season food legume germplasm—such as pea, lentil, chickpea, and faba bean—for crop improvement.
Her current projects include:
- Developing genomic resources for pea and lentil (e.g., reference genomes and resequencing studies)
- Investigating quantitative resistance to root rots in pea and lentil
- Studying winter-hardiness and seed quality in pea and chickpea
