Clara Bicalho is a PhD Candidate in Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, and a Research Associate at the Center on the Politics of Development. Her research focuses on belief formation, political accountability, and communal land titling in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on Brazil's quilombos communities. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from New York University Abu Dhabi and has held fellowships at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center and NYU's Center for Technology and Economic Development.
Her work combines political behavior, formal theory, and quantitative methods. Key contributions include software tools like DDWizard for research design and Metaketa I Meta-Analysis Dashboard for sensitivity analysis. Recent research explores the political dynamics of land reform, emphasizing subnational politics and communal rights.
