Claire Wylie is a Lecturer at the School of Health and Life Sciences and an External Examiner at Cardiff University (since June 2018). Her primary role involves teaching and research in nursing education and clinical practice.
**Research Interests:**
- Development of non-technical skills in newly qualified nurses
- Evaluation of General Practice Nurse (GPN) environments as practice learning placements for Year 3 student nurses (currently involving 5 students)
- Gender diversity in nursing through a video project aimed at encouraging male applicants to adult nursing programs
**Current Projects:**
- Leading a project to assess GPN placements via focus groups with students and GPNs
- Filming an advertising video to promote male recruitment in nursing
**Labs/Teams:**
- Collaborates with Cardiff University as an external examiner
- Manages student nurse placement evaluation initiatives
