Claire McCauley is a Senior Lecturer in Health Sciences at the School of Nursing and Paramedic Science, Ulster University, affiliated with the Faculty of Life & Health Sciences. Her research focuses on healthcare technology applications for dementia care, mobile health solutions, and reminiscence therapy. She holds an ORCID identifier (0000-0002-2092-349X) and is based at the Magee Campus in Londonderry.
Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being. Key research areas include digital health applications for dementia management, opioid deprescribing practices, and mobile app development for aging populations. She has collaborated internationally and supervised two PhD researchers: Thokozani Nyawasha (School of Communication and Media) and James Scott (School of Nursing and Paramedic Science).
McCauley's team received a 'Highly Commended' award in 2021 for the Inspired Dementia Reminiscence App, which promotes personalized care through tablet-based reminiscence therapy.
