Claire Lelarge is a Professor of Economics at Université Paris-Saclay since September 2018 and a Research Fellow at the CEPR. Previously, she held roles at the French Statistical Institute (INSEE), the French Ministry for Industry, the French Central Bank (Banque de France), and the OECD. Her research focuses on firms' organizational strategies, corporate finance, and industrial policy, with particular attention to firm dynamics, innovation, and productivity. She has co-chaired the undergraduate LDD Eco/Maths program in economics and mathematics since 2018.
Her teaching includes courses on international economics at the undergraduate and graduate levels, innovation policy, and research methodology. She has authored numerous influential reports and articles, including analyses on the impact of minimum wage policies on firms, the role of high-speed rail in corporate profitability, and the effects of automation on labor markets. Recent grants include leading the ANR TECHNOFIRMS project (2023–2028) and the TANED Chair (2018–2022).
- Key Administrative Roles: Member of France Stratégie’s National Evaluation Committee for Innovation Policies since 2018, Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Revue Economique (2020–2021), and President of the School Council at ENSAI (National School of Statistics and Information Analysis).
- Public Engagement: Contributed to major policy reports, including advising the French Low-Wage Commission on firm responses to minimum wage increases and analyzing the impact of robotics through the Banque de France Foundation.
Her interdisciplinary work bridges macroeconomic trends with micro-level firm behaviors, emphasizing the interplay between organizational structures, technological adoption, and policy design. Current research explores telework implications for firms and the relationship between firm size and regulatory environments.
