Claire Heard is a Lecturer in Psychology Education at King's College London, working within the Department of Psychology in the School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. She holds a PhD in Psychology from King's College London (2018), an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology (2014), and BSc in Psychology (2013) from the University of Essex.
Her research focuses on applied judgment and decision making, particularly in health contexts. She investigates risk perception, risk communication, and the application of choice architecture and debiasing techniques to improve decision making. Her work also explores information design, information search processes, and the emerging field of inclusive education and AI in learning and assessments. She employs various methodologies including eye-tracking to study information processing and decision making.
Heard's publication record demonstrates consistent research output across risk communication, decision science, and health psychology. Her recent work has expanded into organizational decision making and AI in education, showing evolving research interests while maintaining core focus on how information presentation affects judgment and choices.
