Claire E. Kervin

Claire E. Kervin is an Assistant Professor of English and Environmental Studies at Lawrence University, where she has served since 2016. She teaches courses on unreliable narrators, multiethnic literature, and environmental justice, while also directing the university’s fellowships advising program to support students and alumni in applying for competitive scholarships like the Fulbright and Goldwater.

• Education: Ph.D. in English Literature from Boston University; B.A. with Comprehensive Honors in English Literature and Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Her research focuses on modern and contemporary American literature, with a specialization in environmental literature and ecocriticism. She integrates interdisciplinary perspectives to explore themes of environmental justice and narrative structure in literary works.

In her role as Director of Fellowships Advising, Kervin provides mentorship for applications to prestigious national and international scholarships, emphasizing access and competitive excellence in student development.
