Claudia (Chunyan) Li is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the Lubin School of Business, Pace University. Her research focuses on international accounting, information systems, non-profit entities, and management accounting. She teaches a wide range of courses including financial accounting, managerial accounting, and information systems across undergraduate, MBA, EMBA, and doctoral programs at both NYC and Pleasantville campuses.
Dr. Li holds a PhD and MBA in Accounting from Rutgers University, and a BS in Finance from Renmin University of China. She has published over 12 articles in journals like Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting and Review of Accounting and Finance, and reviews for the Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting (JETA) and the American Accounting Association (AAA) meetings.
Her consulting work includes advising clients on internal accounting systems, internal control, forecasting, budgeting, and designing accounting guidelines for businesses and non-profits. She has supervised one visiting scholar and advised two doctoral students.
Professionally, she serves as a board member of the Asian American Coalition for Education, advocating for equitable admissions practices, and previously held roles with the Renmin University North American Alumni Association. She organizes mental health seminars and online forums addressing challenges faced by Asian American communities.
Her teaching philosophy emphasizes integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications, supported by her certification in online pedagogy. Research interests span ERP system implementations, FASB standard impacts, and cross-border accounting harmonization efforts.
