Chuen Lee

Chuen Lee is an Associate Tutor at the Faculty of Science, University of East Anglia, and a PhD student at the School of Biological Sciences. His research focuses on the relationship between gut microbiome variation and ageing, fitness, and mortality in isolated vertebrate populations.

Chuen’s current work investigates functional gut microbiome changes in the Seychelles warbler using metagenomics. His previous research established a workflow for analyzing the human gut virome in indigenous Malaysian populations, leveraging Oxford Nanopore Technology for long-read sequencing.

Recent publications highlight his contributions to understanding microbiome dynamics in wild animals. Collaborations span international institutions, focusing on molecular ecology and evolutionary biology.
