Chuck Lewis

Chuck Lewis is a Professor of English and Director of the Writing Program at Beloit College. He holds a B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. His research focuses on American novels from the late 19th century to contemporary periods, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches, rhetoric/visual culture, and the cultural history of bicycling.

Key academic contributions include A Coincidence of Wants: The Novel and Neoclassical Economics (2000) and notable articles exploring intersections between literature, visual arts, and societal issues. His work frequently engages with post-9/11 narratives, ekphrasis, and geographical metaphors in texts.
